MS Cure Fund Goes to D.C.

MS Cure Fund is excited to announce that we will be headed to  the 30th Annual Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC)! This year CMSC will be hosted at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland from June 1st – 4th, 2016.

CMSC is an event which celebrates the evolution and continuous growth of knowledge and research pertaining to MS in today’s society. The various exhibits at the convention focus on different aspects of MS research and care. Exhibitors at the convention include pharmaceutical companies, neurologists, other MS societies, and more! MS Cure Fund will also be exhibiting in order to grow awareness for our organization and connect with other professionals in the MS community. This gives us a chance to spread the importance of patient education, one of our strongest priorities, and also to collaborate with other MS professionals on new initiatives within our organization.

  • Epidemiology, genetics and epigenetics
  • Disease management
  • Symptomatic care
  • Immunology and pathophysiology of MS
  • Neuroimaging and biomarkers
  • Rehabilitation
  • Psychosocial issues
  • MS collaborative care
  • Gender-specific concerns
  • Advocacy issues
  • Quality of life strategies

Various meetings also take place during CMSC including research updates, committee meetings, multi-disciplinary collaborations, exhibits, discussions, and social events. The importance of these in regards to MS Cure Fund is to stay informed as we aim to distribute any new, constructive information and resources to MS patients, families and caretakers.

Each day at CMSC will be jam-packed from morning to evening with events, meetings and exhibiting and we also managed to work in two patient education programs in the DC and Baltimore areas. CMSC will keep us busy, but we’re excited to learn more about where the world of MS and general care is headed and how MS Cure Fund fits into the bigger picture. While our primary focus is MS patients, learning how patients can better their routines will certainly contribute to our own mission. The first step in educating patients is to receive education ourselves. Therefore, this is not only a great opportunity to extend our potential to help, but it will also allow us to learn how we can provide better education for those living with MS. We’re looking forward to all of the opportunities that will come out of CMSC!

Stay tuned for our updates about what we learn at CMSC! Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and look out for updates in your mailbox!
